She began acting as a child in theatre productions and at the age of eight played the role of Gretel in The Sound of Music, produced by the Liverpool Empire Theatre. At 10, Stephanie Davis played the title role Annie in another of Liverpool Empire’s productions followed by the role of Little Nell in Her Benny.
After minor roles in Only in Whispers (2005, short film), The Outsiders (2006, TV movie), and TV shows such as Holby City (2007), Doctors (2008) and Parents of the Band (2009), Davis came into the limelight with her participation in the BBC talent-search titled over the Rainbow in 2010, contending for the role of Dorothy Gale in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical theatre production, The Wizard of Oz. Although voted off in the fifth week, her talent did not go unnoticed and she was given the role of Sinead O’Connor in Channel 4’s soap opera Hollyoaks. She went on to play the role for five years from September 2010 to September 2015, until her contract was terminated.
She also acted in two episodes of the spin-off Hollyoaks Later, in 2012. For her performance in Hollyoaks, Davis got nominated twice for the British Soap Opera Awards: one for Best Actress and another for Best Dramatic Performance.
Signing up to participate in the 15th series of the reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, in November 2015, Davis had to pull out a day before the show’s screening due to a nut allergy.
Come January 2016, Davis was cast as a contestant on the 17th series of Celebrity Big Brother, where she eventually emerged runner-up. Her salary for the reality show was reported to be £150,000.
Earlier dating Zayn Malik and Charlie Clapham, Davis was going steady with British model Sam Reece from 2015, but the relationship was severed because of her affair on Celebrity Big Brother with Irish model Jeremy McConnell.
Davis and McConnell’s on/off relationship resulted in a baby boy Caben-Albi George Davis, on January 13, 2017. Disputing the paternity at first, the 27-year-old McConnell now spends time with their son after moving from Ireland to Liverpool. However, the couple has denied any rumours of their relationship being rekindled.
Although declining to appear on the 19th series of Celebrity Big Brother (January 2017), Davis could in all probability accept the producers’ offer for Series 20 in the summer.
Davis, who is appearing on the show Loose Women since 2017, is reported to have a net worth of nearly £2.5 million.
