Russell Howard net worth

By Suren Prasad

Comedian and television presenter Russell Howard has an estimated net worth of £5 million.

Born on March 23, 1980, in Bristol, Russell Howard’s journey as a comedian began when he was a finalist at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s So You Think You’re Funny competition in 1999.

Did this competing help Howard? How did his career kick off thereafter?

His career kick-started in 2004 with BBC Radio 1’s comedy series The Milk Run, for which he wrote, sang and performed.

Howard was part of the elite few to be selected from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2005 and record performances for the show Edinburgh and Beyond. These were broadcast in autumn of 2006 on Paramount Comedy 1 and, in 2009, Howard started hosting the show.

Howard hosted The Russell Howard Show (2006-2008) alongside Jon Richardson on BBC 6 Music.

He released his DVD “Russell Howard Live” in 2008.

Howard also starred on BBC Radio 4’s Banter (2005-2008) and Political Animal (2004-2008). He regularly appeared on Mock the Week until 2010.

In 2009, Howard created and presented his own comedy show, Russell Howard’s Good News, which was voted Best Ever BBC Three Show. Since October 2014, the show has been broadcast on BBC Two.

Howard’s tour Dingledodies received such a tremendous response in 2008 that it was extended into 2009, with the Hammersmith Apollo witnessing three sell-out shows in addition to other big venues such as Wembley and Manchester Arena.

At the 2009 Chortle Comedy Awards, Howard was given the title “Best Theatre Show” and toured the UK that December for his show Big Rooms and Belly Laughs.

Right Here Right Now, his 2011 arena tour, attracted sell-out crowds by selling 300,000 tickets, while extra dates were later added.

Howard debuted on American TV in 2011, appearing on the late night talk show Conan.

In 2014, he went on his stand-up tour Wonderbox around the UK, the US, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.

He also became the first stand-up to perform at the Royal Albert Hall continuously for four nights.

In December 2015, Howard is going to debut as an actor in A Gert Lush Christmas, a dramedy which he wrote.

By 2013, Howard was estimated to be worth no less than £4 million.

He lives in Leamington Spa in a £600,000 house with his girlfriend, doctor Cerys.
