A recent feat pulled off for a music industry client’s wedding in Provence is just one example. ‘They tried to place a last-minute order of Rock Angel directly from Château d’Esclans. The château was sold out, but we managed to get 20 cases delivered from the UK in 36 hours,’ says Goedhuis.
For immediate drinking, Goedhuis recommends Giuseppe and Elisa Sesti at Castello di Argiano, who ‘produce the most deliciously moreish Monteleccio and a superb Brunello di Montalcino’. To buy, he suggests 2013 Burgundies and 2005 Bordeaux, ‘for its wonderful quality and reasonable prices’, and certain 2009 and 2010s which were overpriced at the time.
