In 1992, she hosted MTV’s Most Wanted Europe, God’s Gift (1995), Prickly Heat (1998) and Streetmate (1998).
Her golden opportunity arrived in 2000, when she was hired to host the new series Big Brother. McCall then went on to host Celebrity Big Brother in 2001, while becoming the regular host of the re-formatted Big Brother’s Big Mouth (2008-10).
Along with Big Brother, McCall hosted other shows, such as BRIT Awards (2000 and 2003), Don’t Try This at Home! (2001), Popstars: The Rivals and The Vault (2002), Reborn in the USA (2003), BAFTAs (2004 and 2006), Davina (2006) and The Friday Night New Year Project 2007.
She voice-acted in the Doctor Who episode “Bad Wolf” (2005), and acted in Big Brother’s zombie parody Dead Set (2008).
McCall hosted Got to Dance (2009-2014) alongside The Million Pound Drop (2010) and later The Biggest Loser and Long Lost Family (2011).
She has also been presenting The Jump since 2014 — a competition telecast live from the Austrian mountains.
She has consistently been a co-host for BBC One’s Comic Relief-organised charity telethons, such as Red Nose Day (since 2005).McCall reportedly raised £2,239,931 for the UK charity Sport Relief in 2014 by participating in ‘Davina – Beyond Breaking Point.
Recently buying a Grade II listed Georgian mansion worth £4.3 million adorning 37 acres of countryside, she also owns a £1.5 million villa in St Tropez, France and a £1 million manor in Surrey.
She has five fitness DVDs to her name and even her own app — Davina Fitness — available for download at the iTunes Store.
McCall is brand ambassador to cosmetics company Garnier.
