Professor Martin Roth and the Trustees of the V&A invited guests for a private viewing of the first international retrospective of David Bowie which opens to the public this weekend.

After entering via the Grand Entrance, guests gathered in the Dome and were given the option of vodka cocktails or Heineken and ate canapés provided by Last Supper. Guests took the opportunity to view the exhibition which presents more than 300 objects from the David Bowie archive including handwritten lyrics, original costumes, fashion, photography, set designs and Bowie’s own instruments. All of which are brought to life by an immersive sound and video experience of the inimitable artist’s performances.

DJ Jerry Bouthier welcomed guests with a David Bowie inspired DJ set. Once all guests arrived, 2manydjs’ David and Stephen Dewaele from Soulwax took over and continued the Bowie theme with a selection of tracks from various albums, including some from Bowie’s new album, The Next Day.
