Chris Pratt net worth

By Suren Prasad

The Hollywood star known for his fluctuating physique, Chris Pratt has a guesstimated net worth of $30 million.

Born to Kathleen Louise Indahl, and Daniel Clifton Pratt, in Virginia, Minnesota on June 21, 1979, Christopher Michael Pratt was raised in Lake Stevens, Washington, where he completed his schooling in 1997.

How did Pratt make his millions?

Chris Pratt then took off in the first semester of community college to work as a discount ticket salesman and a daytime stripper, but somehow turned up in Maui, Hawaii, homeless, where he had to sleep in vans or beach tents. While working as a waiter at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant, he was ‘discovered’ by actress Rae Dawn Chong, who cast him in her first directorial venture, Cursed Part 3 (2000).
In 2001, Pratt appeared on the TV series The Huntress, followed by Everwood (2002-2006). Other TV roles include The O.C. (2006-2007), Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (2010-2011, voice role) and Mom (2017).
His biggest TV role in Parks and Recreation (2009-2015) earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
After minor movie roles in The Extreme Team (2003), Strangers with Candy (2005), Walk the Talk (2007), Wieners (2008) and Wanted (2008), Pratt got starring roles in Bride Wars (2009), Deep in the Valley (2009), Jennifer’s Body (2009), The Multi-Hyphenate (2009) and The Five-Year Engagement (2012).
In Moneyball (2011), Pratt lost 14 kg to secure the role of baseballer Hatteberg. He had to regain the pounds in 10 Years (2011), losing them again to play a Navy Seal in Zero Dark Thirty (2012)…and put on the pounds again for Delivery Man (2013; salary: $180,000).
Other appearances include: Take Me Home Tonight (2011), What’s Your Number? (2011) and Her (2013; salary: $400,000).
In 2014, Pratt voice-acted in the $470 million grosser The Lego Movie, for a salary of only $900,000. The film won the BAFTA for Best Animated Film, the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Animated Feature and the Saturn Award for Best Animated Film.
The second starring role in the $773 million grosser Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) earned Pratt the CinemaCon Award for Breakthrough Performer of the Year, Saturn Award for Best Actor, and Detroit Film Critics Society Award for Best Ensemble. However, Pratt’s salary was just $1.5 million.
In 2015, Pratt replaced Josh Brolin in the $1.67 billion blockbuster Jurassic World, for a salary less than $10 million. The beefy star won the MTV Movie Award for Best Action performance.
Pratt will reprise his role in Jurassic World 2 (releasing in June 2018).
Banking around $13 million in one year (June 2014-June 2015), Pratt made the rankings for the World’s Highest-Paid Actors for the first time.
In 2016, Pratt portrayed two more brilliant roles: the first in the remake of the eponymous 1960 Western The Magnificent Seven (2016), and the second in the sci-fi Passengers (salary: $12 million).
He will be reprising the role of Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (May 2017), Avengers: Infinity War (May 2018) and a yet to be titled Avengers film (2019).
Pratt earned his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 21, 2017.
