Carol Vorderman net worth

Carol Vorderman is a British media personality who has an estimated net worth of £18 million.

Born on December 24, 1960 in Bedford, Carol Vorderman was raised in Prestatyn, North Wales and studied engineering at Cambridge’s Sidney Sussex College. She began working at Wales’ Dinorwig Power Station as a junior civil engineer, and then travelled to Leeds as a graduate management trainee.

In 1982, Vorderman got a job as co-presenter for the new game show Countdown after her mother applied on her behalf. Channel 4’s first woman host, Vorderman’s stretch at Countdown lasted till 2008. Her 26-year-spell made her one of the highest earning women in Britain, clocking a Countdown presence of 5,625 minutes, which saw her rake in nearly £5 million annually.

Vorderman hosted other programmes, such as The Pride of Britain Awards and was a regular columnist for the British magazine Reveal.

A frequent contributor for the Daily Mirror and The Daily Telegraph, Vorderman has also written a series of school textbooks and books on Sudoku as well as Detox diets. Detox For Life, her top bestseller, sold more than a million copies earning her over £750,000.

She released Carol Vorderman’s Mind Aerobics and also launched a video game in the US called Carol Vorderman’s Sudoku for PlayStation 2, in 2007. She also had an advertising deal of debt consolidation company First Plus.

Vorderman then started a new online maths coaching system in 2010 called The Maths Factor for the age group 4-12.

Her autobiography, It All Counts (2010), recently accounted for over £100,000 in earnings.

She hosted Loose Women alongside Sally Lindsay from 2011-2014.

A qualified pilot, she was also the only female Ambassador of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and was ranked Group Captain for the RAFVR(T), in 2014.

Awarded the MBE in 2000 for “services to broadcasting”, her charities include raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
