Voting Conservative is the only sensible option for realists.
When Brown called the election it was Labour versus Conservatives, but from the first live TV debate, TV1, it was Conservatives versus Lib-Dems, while Brown ended up being fairly duffed up and stuffed by a plain-talking Grannie from Rochdale.
Every time the bigoted Brown banged on about jobs and ensuring the recovery, the more people realized that he was in denial about the catastrophic state of the nation’s finances; his line that Global Crunch was created in America overlooked the fact that he had already wasted hundreds of billions creating 850,000 unproductive bureaucratic “jobs”, an ongoing drain on the Exchequer, many filled by his gerrymandering policy of uncontrolled immigration, and it is his recklessness that has created our monstrous National Debt.
So, enter Lib-Dem’s Nick “Life’s unfair” Clegg, as in “Taxes are unfair”. I ask you, he actually said that in TV3! In Nick’s little world you see, unemployment, large classes, border controls and nuclear weapons are all unfair, along with old age and death. And who’s to pay for all this is a question Nick hasn’t bothered to answer as it’s bound to be “unfair” on someone else.
Oh, and elections are unfair too! So after TV1 Nick the Dreamer announced he was going to play it fair and be the next PM regardless, of a coalition with half the cabinet of Lib-Dems adopting 100% Lib-Dem policies only. It made Kinnock’s Hillsborough gaffe look like a waste of space which he was determined to fill, but by the time of TV3, Nick’s lack of substance was increasingly obvious, as he complained once-too-often about “Those two again!”
So, here’s looking at you Nick: if any voters want to get rid of Britain’s nuclear deterrent and let Brussels run our armed forces, have a local income tax of 2p to reduce class sizes, have a surge in newly-legal and illegal immigration, have bankers’ cash bonuses limited to £2,500 and abandon Sterling and join the job-destroying, deflationary €uro just as it’s visibly collapsing, then vote for the arrogant little upstart Nick and say: “Goodbye to nuclear defense, the pound, the City, border controls, control of our armed forces and common sense”, while little incontinent Nick proclaims himself as “The rallying point for those who want change … who want to vote with their heart, for the real change for good, for real fairness …”.
Oh, please, it’s enough to make you puke Lib-Dem yellow right up to Polling Day!
So, voting Conservative is the only sensible option for realists. Yes, the Conservatives have let us down horribly over Europe and immigration over the past twenty-five years or so, as they idly and unwisely took the electorate for granted on these key issues.
But don’t make the mistake of hanging these past errors – the errors of the “we know best” Hurd, Clarke, Heseltine, Lawson generation – onto this generation. Have faith in Cameron’s freshly re-electable Tories, his emphatic denial of ever joining the €uro and his intention to cap immigration, and in his evident integrity and in his signed Contract with the People. On Thursday take the dog for a walk and kiss the wife, but for them and your children’s future, make sure you VOTE CONSERVATIVE and avoid a hung parliament
