Born in Berkeley, California, actor Ben Affleck is reported to be worth £52 million.

and has been involved in acting jobs since childhood. He first appeared in Dark Side of the Street at the age of seven. Other early work included a Burger King commercial and a T.J. Maxx commercial alongside Matt Damon.

How did Affleck make his millions?

His biggest success as a child actor came as the star of the children’s series The Voyage of the Mimi (1984) and The Second Voyage of the Mimi (1988).

Affleck had supporting roles in School Ties (1992) and Dazed and Confused (1993) and starred in Chasing Amy (19997).

He came to national attention working alongside Matt Damon once againand Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting (1997), transforming Affleck into a celebrity. The film was a box office hit and grossed $225 million.Following this Affleck also starred in Armageddon (1998) opposite Bruce Willis. This was also a box office hit earning $553 million worldwide. That same year he had a supporting role in Shakespeare in Love.

He starred alongside Sandra Bullock in Forces of Nature (1999).

He appeared in Bounce (2000) opposite then girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow and Reindeer Games (2001) alongside Charlize Theron. He had a supporting role in Boiler Room (2000) and provided the voice of Joseph in Joseph: Kind of Dreams (2000).

In 2001 Affleck starred in Pearl Harbor, another box office success grossing $449 million worldwide. During the same year he also starred in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Daddy and Them.

In 2002 he was cast as Jack Ryan in The Sum of all Fears. He starred in Changing Lanes later that year.

He also starred in Daredevil (2003), Gigli (2003), Surviving Christmas (2004), Jersey Girl (2004), Hollywodland (2006), Clerks II (2006) and Smokin’ Aces (2007).

He made his first directorial debut with Gone Baby Gone (2007).

In 2009 he returned to acting and starred in three features, He’s Just Not That Into You, State of Play and Extract.

He directed his second feature in 2010 titled The Town. Along with directing and co-writing the film, he was part of the cast that included Jon Hamm, Chris Cooper and Blake Lively.

Affleck starred in The Company Men also in 2010.

He directed his third feature film, Argo, in 2012, which won an Academy Award for Best Picture. The film grossed $232 million worldwide.

2013 saw Affleck star in To the Wonder and Runner Runner.

This year Affleck has starred in Gone Girl and is expected to star as Batman in the 2016 superhero film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

In 2010 Affleck founded the Eastern Congo Initiative, which supports ‘Africans finding solutions to African problems’. He has also been a supporter of the A-T Children’s Project since 1998.

Affleck, along with his wife Jennifer Garner, own a $20 million home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles.
