Spencer Matthews net worth

By Suren Prasad

A TV reality star in BATFA award-winning docusoap Made in Chelsea (MIC), Spencer Matthews has an estimated net worth estimated of £2.9 million.

Born in 1989 to David and Jane Matthews, owners of Eden Rock Hotel, St Barths – one of the top 100 hotels in the world — Eton-educated Matthews has an estimated net worth of £2.9 million.

He worked in celebrated London clubs, such as Boujis, Amika and Movida, as a PR Manager and then changed jobs later on to become a foreign exchange trader, reportedly earning £100k a year, in between filming for MIC. He is also a shareholder in his parents’ hotel and several estates in Knightsbridge and the South of France.

Although branded a womaniser because of his behaviour during the six series of MIC, Matthews is one of the E4 show’s most popular protagonists. Over the years he has allegedly been involved with various female co-stars, including Caggie Dunlop, Funda Onal, Louise Thompson, Stephanie Pratt and Lucy Watson.

A lover of the high life and a self-confessed adrenaline junkie, Matthews enjoys racing cars, snowboarding and skydiving. In June 2011 he luckily survived a crash at the Dodgeball Supercar Rally even though his £200,000 Lamborghini was written off. Matthews has also taken part in three New York Marathons. Another fascinating fact about him is that French is his first language.

He recently sparked controversy after tweeting a £488,706.48 bar bill at the 2&2 Club. This web gaffe earned him intense criticism from the twittersphere. He later claimed that this was because of a till error by the waitress and pledged to give the bill amount (the real one being £48) to charity.

This young millionaire also secured a six-figure autobiography deal with Pan Macmillan for his book Confessions of a Chelsea Boy, which revealed a lot about his life as well as the inside scoop on the upcoming MIC series. It also included a moving account of the devastating loss of his elder brother on Mount Everest, and the close family ties that ground him.

His latest love interest is rumoured to be the British model Emma Miller, the ex of Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio.
