Mo Farah net worth

By Suren Prasad

British long-distance and middle-distance runner, Mohamed ‘Mo’ Farah, has a net worth of £3 million.

Farah won his first of five English school cross country races at 14. At 18 he won the 5000 metres at the European Athletics Junior Championship.

In 2006, Farah became Britain’s second quickest 5000 metre runner and won the 2006 European Cross Country Championships in Italy.

How many winnings have made Farah a millionaire?

In 2010, he won the European Cup 10000 metres. Farah then became only the fifth man to pull off a 5000/10000 metre double at the European Athletics Championships 2010. In Zurich’s IAAF Diamond League meet, Farah became the first British athlete to break the 13-minute barrier for 5000 metres. That December, the British Olympic Association named him Track-and-Field Athlete of the Year.

Farah then moved to Oregon in 2011 to train under Alberto Salazar and broke the European 5000 metre indoor record. He won the European Indoor Championship 3000 metres and set a British and European record when he won the Prefontaine Classic’s 10000 metre race in Oregon.

Farah then effected an Olympic double (5000/10000) at London 2012, alongside a gold in the 5000 metres at the European Athletics Championships. His post-Olympic earnings pushed to £3.75?million.

In 2013, Farah shattered the European 1500 metre record at Herculis meet, Monaco, clocking 3:28.81. This also made him the only man in history to run the 1500, 5000 and 10000 metre races under 3:30 minutes, 13 minutes and 27 minutes respectively.
