Joel Dommett Net Worth

By Suren Prasad

First celebrity of the 12-member ensemble to land in Australia for the reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, British comedian/TV star Joel Dommett has an estimated net worth of £2.4 million.

Joel Dommett was born in Rockhampton, Gloucestershire on June 8, 1985. As a teenager, he tried his hand at music as part of a band called Psirus.
How did Dommett earn his millions?

At 19, Dommett moved to London looking for a career in entertainment, and performed his first bit of stand-up comedy that very same year at a Los Angeles bar. Taking it up as a full-time career in 2007, he performed all over the world including Holland and Iceland. Dommett went on to win Best Newcomer award and also made it to the finals of Stand-Up Comedian of the Year in 2008.

He also briefly appeared in the World War II movie The Edge of Love (2008)—other movie appearances include Bashment (2010) and White Island (2016).

However, Dommett sought a career on TV, beginning with the series Casualty (2004) and then went on to act in The Golden Hour (2005), Totally Frank (2005), Inspector Linley (2007) and Teenage Kicks (2008). He soon graduated to a full-time appearance on the BBC sitcom Popatron (2010) followed by his famous role in Skins (2010).

After plaudits for a brilliant debut solo in 2011 titled Neon Hero in Edinburgh and a second one called Nunchuck Silver Medallist 2002 the following year, Dommett came to be recognized as one of the fastest rising stars in Britain’s comic circles. He also did stand-up on BBC Three’s Russell Howard’s Good News (2011).

He also presented Live in Chelsea (2011), EMA Voices 2011 and co-hosted How To Survive A Disaster Movie (2012). In 2012, Dommett played the part of newsreader for MTV News and was one of the ‘jokers’ in Impractical Jokers UK (2012-2014).

Other TV appearances of his include Sweat the Small Stuff (2013), The Dog Ate My Homework (2014), Reality Bites (2015), Bring the Noise (2015) and World of Weird (2015).
Dommett is one of 12 contenders for ITV’s Ant and Dec hosted reality show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, set in the Australian jungles. The 16th series of the show began on November 13 and will end on December 4, 2016.
