Really Annoying Phrases
The second cartoon in Anthony's new series: we want to hear your really annoying phrases too.
Friezing already
Frieze is the starting pistol for the art world's runners. The interesting question is whether it is a sprint, a marathon or an aesthete's Supermarket Sweep.
We're here, we're queer...
and we've got something to cheer. Gay Icons at the National Portrait Gallery is a cause of joy - and queries.
Creative Debt
After the sexual shenanigans of the 20th century’s great authors — from Graham Greene to Martin Amis — books appeared on the subject of the creative debt literature owes to adultery; now, with financial shenanigans at the front of our minds, it is entirely appropriate that books acknowledge the creative debt literature owes to debt.

To Bonhams on Bond Street this morning for a refreshing breakfast - and I don't just mean the orange juice.
Perpetual Patronage
It seems like only yesterday that Hedgehog was sitting in the VIP lounges at Design Miami/Basel and Art Basel (held in Basel, as opposed to Design Miami and Art Basel Miami Beach, which are held in Miami), observing the art world's patrons.

Art Basel
Messe 2
Basel, Switzerland
10th-14th June
Some of my personal favourites from the show; nothing too avant-garde - it frightens the horses, you know. Artists include Warhol, Lichtenstein, Doig, Kippenberger, Gursky and Polidori.

Q
I am at the start of divorce proceedings and am concerned about the tax implications. I have heard that you might have to pay capital gains tax on the assets you get as part of the divorce settlement - is this the case?
A
It is a little-known part of the UK tax system but divorcing couples may indeed find themselves subject to capital gains tax. This can happen, for instance, if the marital home is sold as part of the divorce settlement or even in a situation where the home is given to one spouse under the settlement, with no money changing hands.
